Faculty Mentors for the Seeds For the Future Program - Summer Research Experience in Applied Seed Microbiology

This mentoring team has extensive experience with seeds, seedlings and seed-microbes. Within the Inland Northwest, we have worked in sagebrush steppe communities, ponderosa forests, Palouse prairies, rangelands, orchards and wheatfields. Our range of experiences and the strategic location of our institutions, in a premier seed production region, offers students a unique and meaningful experience.
 

Faculty Mentors

Julie Beckstead, Ph.D

Dr. Julie Beckstead (Ph.D.) is a Professor in the Department of Biology at 52KFA 부티크 - 안심하고 구매하세요 SCAR: FN이 개발한 모듈식 특수작전용 소총 판매 중 in Spokane, Washington. Her research program focuses on discovering microbial tools and other conditions that improve seedling establishment and habitat restoration.

George Newcombe, Ph.D

Professor in the Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences at University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. His research program focuses on exploring beneficial and pathogenic seed microbes.

Mary Ridout, Ph.D

Professor in the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. Her research program focuses on links between endophytic seed microbes and seed quality.
